Everyone wants to belong to something and someone. As children of God, we already know to whom we belong, Our Heavenly Father! As a people of faith we belong to a wonderful something, the Catholic Church!
When we gather for liturgy and participate in parish life, we feel the true meaning of the word church (translated from Greek, ecclesia means "called to gather"). Through this gathering we become connected to each other and form a deep bond that unites us as the
family of God.

Jesus gave us the church as a continuous source of nourishment to help us grow in size and number. Jesus asked us to create a place for each new member of the family. He told us that we welcomed Him each time we welcomed a stranger to our table. Jesus gave us great signs of nourishment which we call sacraments and through the sacraments we receive the complete nourishment of God's grace.
We are called to be one family and we answer this call through the Sacraments of Initiation. For many members in our family, our parents brought us to the church as infants and we were baptized.
Throughout our childhood, we received the sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation which completed the sequence of initiation. Some of our family members have not been able to receive these sacraments and the church provides an opportunity for them to become fully initiated through the
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA).
If you are longing for a deeper experience of faith and have a desire to be fully initiated through the Catholic church into the family of God, please consider coming to the gatherings for RCIA.
We meet once a week to hear the Word of God, to study the teachings of the church and to grow in the friendship of Jesus which bonds us together as family.
