Lenten Books Available At the doors of the church this weekend (2/18, 2/19), The Little Black Books are available. Produced by the Diocese of Saginaw, Michigan, The Little Black Books contain a six minute meditation for every day of the Lenten Season. As such these booklets have become a popular and practical way for even the busiest Catholic to set aside some time each day during the Lenten Season.

Daily Mass during Lent is celebrated Monday thru Friday at 7:30 am and 12:05 pm, and on Saturday at 7:30 am.
Stations of the Cross will be on Friday's at 7 pm only.
We celebrate Mass on the weekends on Saturday at 5:30 pm and on Sunday at 7 am, 8:30 am, 10 am, 12 noon and 6 pm.
Confession is held on Saturday from 4:30 to 5:15 pm. For Lent, additional confession sessions will be held on Monday nights from February 27th thru March 26th from 7:00 to 8:30 pm.
Lent starts with Ash Wednesday The Holy Season of Lent begins this coming Wednesday, February 22, with the observance of Ash Wednesday. Ash Wednesday and all the Fridays of Lent are days of abstinence for Catholics from the age of fourteen on. This means that we do not eat any meat on those days.

Blessed ashes will be distributed during Mass on Wednesday at 7:00am and 9:00am, and 12:05pm and 7:30pm. Ashes will also be distributed during a Prayer Service at 3:30pm.
In addition Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of fast binding all Catholics between the ages of 18 and 59. On those two days, in addition to abstaining from meat, only one full meal is taken.

Welcome Home to Healing
“Welcome Home” is a diocesan initiative to invite all Catholics to experience the grace of the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Confession is a wonderful opportunity to set aside our sinful ways and to draw closer to our Lord.
Confessions will be held every Monday during Lent, from February 27 through March 26, from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. in every Catholic Church in the Diocese of Paterson.

Lent - Tuesday night catechism
Tuesday Night Catechism during Lent
On each of the six Tuesdays nights of Lent, Father Ray will be offering a one-hour presentation, 7:00-8:00 P.M. on various topics of Catholic belief and practice. These presentations will include a 35-40 minute presentation with remaining time for pertinent questions.
The topics for the six Tuesdays are:
February 28 – The Papacy – what is the pope, where does he come from, what does he do;
March 6 – The Bible – Catholic vs. fundamentalist – a Catholic perspective on the origin and meaning of Sacred Scripture;
March 13 – The New Saints – how is someone “canonized” a saint – who are the two new American saints recently approved;
March 20 – Vatican II 50 Years Later – this Fall marks the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Council – some thoughts on the Council and its reception today;
March 27 – The New Mass Translation – the whys and wherefores of the recently implemented translation of The Roman Missal;
April 3 – History of the Paschal Triduum – a look at the history, development and piety behind the unique liturgies of the last days of Holy Week.
