Lent starts with Ash Wednesday

Lent starts with Ash Wednedsay

The Holy Season of Lent begins this coming Wednesday, February 22, with the observance of Ash Wednesday.

Blessed ashes will be distributed during Mass on
Wednesday at 7:00am and 9:00am, and 12:05pm and 7:30pm. Ashes will also be distributed during a Prayer Service at 3:30pm.

Ash Wednesday and all the Fridays of Lent are days of abstinence for Catholics from the age of fourteen on. This means that we do not eat any meat on those days.

In addition Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are
days of fast binding all
Catholics between the ages of 18 and 59. On those two days, in addition to abstaining from meat, only one full meal is taken.

Don’t be afraid! Information will be provided. Ask the priest to help you. Experience the gracious mercy of God!
